An improper access control vulnerability in Trend Micro Apex One, Trend Micro Apex One as a Service and OfficeScan XG SP1 on a sensitive file could allow a local attacker to escalate privileges on affected installations. Please note: an attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability.

An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the ApexOne Security Agent. The product sets incorrect permissions on a sensitive file. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of SYSTEM.
