Buffer Overflow vulnerability in Extreme Networks IQ Engine before 10.6r1a, and through 10.6r4 before 10.6r5, allows an attacker to execute arbitrary code via the implementation of the ahauth service

This vulnerability allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Extreme Networks routers. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the ahauth service, which listens on UDP port 3001. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a fixed-length stack-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of root.
