CVE-2024-5605: Media Library Assistant <= 3.16 - Authenticated (Contributor+) SQL Injection via order Parameter

Published Jun 20, 2024
·
Updated

The Media Library Assistant plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to time-based SQL Injection via the ‘order’ parameter within the mlatagcloud Shortcode in all versions up to, and including, 3.16 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.
