CVE-2025-6463: Forminator Forms – Contact Form, Payment Form & Custom Form Builder <= 1.44.2 - Unauthenticated Arbitrary File Deletion Triggered via Administrator Form Submission Deletion

Published Jul 2, 2025
·
Updated

The Forminator Forms – Contact Form, Payment Form & Custom Form Builder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion due to insufficient file path validation in the 'entrydeleteuploadfiles' function in all versions up to, and including, 1.44.2. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to include arbitrary file paths in a form submission. The file will be deleted when the form submission is deleted, whether by an Administrator or via auto-deletion determined by plugin settings. This can easily lead to remote code execution when the right file is deleted (such as wp-config.php).

Remediation

Recommended actions to resolve this vulnerability, in priority order.

  1. Upgrade

Upgrade Forminator Forms – Contact Form, Payment Form & Custom Form Builder to a version that resolves this vulnerability.

    Fixed in 1.44.2
  2. Compensating control

Mitigate by restricting access to the WordPress admin (e.g., management endpoints and any form submission endpoints) so only trusted administrators can submit form deletions; this reduces exposure to attackers triggering deletion behavior via administrator form submission.
