Frequently Asked Questions

1

Who can exploit this issue?

An attacker must be adjacent to the affected device and have low privileges. Exploitation is performed by sending a crafted IPv6 LDP message.

2

What is the practical impact of a successful attack?

A successful attack can disclose a limited amount of memory from the rpd routing process. It can also disrupt an LDP adjacency.

3

When is a device exposed?

Exposure requires use of IPv6 LDP on Junos OS or Junos OS Evolved. The supplied information does not identify affected releases or whether IPv6 LDP is enabled by default.
