Frequently Asked Questions
Which deployments are exposed to this issue?
Deployments running Junos OS or Junos OS Evolved are exposed when IPv6 PIM is enabled and an IPv6-enabled PIM interface can receive PIM Hello messages from an adjacent network attacker.
What level of attacker access is required?
The attacker does not need authentication, privileges, or user interaction. They must be adjacent to the affected device and able to send a malformed PIM Hello message to an IPv6-enabled PIM interface.
