CVE-2026-101981: Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved: An adjacent LDP peer causes routing-engine compromise when LDP is enabled
A Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability in the routing protocol daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an unauthenticated adjacent LDP peer to cause an rpd crash or execute arbitrary code via a malformed LDP Label Mapping message.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which systems are exposed to this issue?
Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved systems are exposed when LDP is enabled and an adjacent LDP peer can send protocol messages to the device.
What does an attacker need to exploit the vulnerability?
An attacker needs to act as an adjacent LDP peer and send a malformed LDP Label Mapping message. No authentication or user interaction is required.
What is the potential operational impact?
Successful exploitation can crash the routing protocol daemon (rpd) or allow arbitrary code execution, affecting confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
