Frequently Asked Questions
Which deployments are exposed to this issue?
Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved deployments are affected when both SRv6 and Flexible Algorithm are enabled for IS-IS.
What access does an attacker need to trigger the denial of service?
The attacker must be adjacent to the affected device and able to send the specific malicious IS-IS SRv6 packet. No privileges or user interaction are required.
What is the operational impact of a successful attack?
A successful attack crashes the routing daemon (rpd), causing a denial-of-service condition.
