Frequently Asked Questions

1

Who can trigger the crash?

An attacker must be a configured BGP peer capable of sending a BGP VPLS signaling update. The issue is not described as being triggerable by an arbitrary device that is not configured as a BGP peer.

2

Which deployments should be prioritized for review?

Prioritize Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved devices that use automatic VPLS site ID and have configured BGP peers. A successful trigger crashes the routing protocol daemon (rpd), causing an availability impact.
