CVE-2026-102011: Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved: An attacker causes rpd to crash when LDP link protection is enabled

Published Oct 14, 2026
·
Updated

A Reachable Assertion vulnerability in the rpd process of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos EVO allows an adjacent attacker to cause a denial of service via an established LDP session when two misconfigured neighbors (or one neighbor duplicated by an L2 loop) advertise the same transport address on a link-protected interface.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

What conditions are required for exploitation?

The attacker must be adjacent and use an established LDP session. LDP link protection must be enabled on the affected interface, and two misconfigured neighbors—or one neighbor duplicated through an L2 loop—must advertise the same transport address.

2

Does an attacker need credentials or user interaction?

No. The vector is adjacent-network access, with low attack complexity, no privileges required, and no user interaction required.

3

What is the operational impact?

Successful exploitation can crash the rpd process, causing a denial of service. The provided data indicates no confidentiality or integrity impact.
