CVE-2026-102047: Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved: An attacker causes l2cpd denial of service when MVRP is used
An Improper Validation of Consistency within Input vulnerability in the l2cpd process of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an adjacent unauthenticated Layer 2 attacker to cause a denial of service in associated Layer 2 control protocols via a crafted MVRP Ethernet frame sent to an MVRP-enabled interface.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can exploit this issue?
An unauthenticated attacker on the adjacent Layer 2 network can exploit it. The attacker must be able to send crafted Ethernet frames to an affected interface.
Is an interface affected by default?
The issue requires MVRP to be enabled on the targeted interface. The provided information does not indicate that MVRP is enabled by default.
What is the impact of successful exploitation?
Successful exploitation can cause a denial of service in Layer 2 control protocols associated with the l2cpd process. The supplied severity vector indicates availability impact only, with no stated confidentiality or integrity impact.
