Frequently Asked Questions

1

Does an attacker need credentials or management-plane access to exploit this issue?

No. The attacker does not need privileges or user interaction, but must be adjacent to the affected device on a directly connected network and send an IGMPv3 membership report.

2

What is the expected security impact if exploitation succeeds?

Successful exploitation can crash the rpd routing process, causing a denial of service. The supplied CVSS vector indicates no confidentiality or integrity impact.
