Frequently Asked Questions

1

Which deployments are exposed to this issue?

Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved deployments are exposed when SRv6 dynamic tunnels are enabled and the device accepts BGP sessions from peers that can send BGP-signaled SRv6 service routes.

2

What does an attacker need to exploit the vulnerability?

An attacker must be able to act as a remote, unauthenticated BGP peer and send a malformed BGP-signaled SRv6 service route. No user interaction or prior privileges are required.

3

What is the expected impact of successful exploitation?

Successful exploitation can crash the routing protocol daemon (rpd), causing a denial-of-service condition. The provided data indicates no confidentiality or integrity impact.
