CVE-2026-102180: Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved: An attacker causes an rpd crash when BGP RIB streaming telemetry is in use
A Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability in the routing protocol daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an attacker with access to a configured BGP peering session to cause a denial of service by sending a crafted BGP route attribute, which is processed while a BGP RIB streaming telemetry subscription is active.
This issue does not affect Junos OS versions prior to 22.1R1. This issue does not affect Junos OS Evolved versions prior to 22.1R1-EVO.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which systems are exposed to this denial-of-service condition?
Systems running affected Junos OS or Junos OS Evolved releases with both a configured BGP peering session and an active BGP RIB streaming telemetry subscription are exposed. Releases prior to 22.1R1 for Junos OS and prior to 22.1R1-EVO for Junos OS Evolved are not affected.
What access does an attacker need to trigger the crash?
The attacker must have access to a configured BGP peering session. They can trigger the condition by sending a crafted BGP route attribute while BGP RIB streaming telemetry is active.
What is the operational impact of successful exploitation?
Successful exploitation crashes the routing protocol daemon, rpd, causing a denial of service. The provided information does not indicate confidentiality or integrity impact.
