CVE-2026-106147: Cross-Site Scripting via ListBox Bound Text in Kendo UI for jQuery
In Progress® Kendo® UI for jQuery releases starting with R1 2020 and prior to 2026.3.1015, the ListBox default item template renders the bound dataTextField value as raw HTML without encoding. An attacker who can modify the bound data can supply HTML containing event handlers that execute JavaScript in a user's browser when the affected list item is rendered. Successful exploitation can compromise the confidentiality and integrity of data accessible to the affected application. This issue is fixed in version 2026.3.1015.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which deployments are affected?
Progress Kendo UI for jQuery releases from R1 2020 through versions before 2026.3.1015 are affected when a ListBox uses its default item template and renders attacker-controlled or otherwise untrusted bound data through dataTextField.
What does an attacker need to exploit this issue?
The attacker needs the ability to modify data bound to the ListBox dataTextField and must get a user to render the affected list item. Crafted HTML with event handlers can then execute JavaScript in that user's browser.
Are default ListBox settings affected?
Yes. The issue is in the ListBox default item template, which renders the bound dataTextField value as raw HTML without encoding.
What is the available remediation?
Upgrade to Kendo UI for jQuery version 2026.3.1015, which fixes the issue.
