CVE-2026-106148: Cross-Site Scripting via TabStrip, Menu, and PanelBar Image URLs in Kendo UI for jQuery
In Progress® Kendo® UI for jQuery prior to 2026.3.1015, the TabStrip, Menu, and PanelBar components insert data source imageUrl values into single-quoted image src attributes without proper escaping. An attacker who can modify an image URL can inject additional HTML attributes, including event handlers, and execute JavaScript in a user's browser when the affected component renders the image. Successful exploitation can compromise the confidentiality and integrity of data accessible to the affected application. The earliest affected version has not been confirmed. This issue is fixed in version 2026.3.1015.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is realistically exposed to this issue?
Applications using Kendo UI for jQuery TabStrip, Menu, or PanelBar components are exposed if they render imageUrl values that an attacker can modify. Exploitation requires a victim to load a page that renders the attacker-controlled image URL.
What access does an attacker need to exploit it?
The attacker needs the ability to modify an image URL supplied through the affected component's data source. They can use that control to inject HTML attributes such as event handlers into the generated image element.
Are default deployments affected?
The available information does not establish whether default configurations are affected. Exposure depends on whether the application uses the affected components and accepts attacker-modifiable imageUrl data.
Which versions should be remediated?
Kendo UI for jQuery versions before 2026.3.1015 are affected; the earliest affected version is not confirmed. Upgrade to version 2026.3.1015 or later.
