CVE-2026-109999: AI Marketing Expert <= 1.2.8 - Unauthenticated Stored DOM-Based Cross-Site Scripting via 'name' Parameter
The AI Marketing Expert — AI Email Marketing, AI Content Generator, SEO Analyzer, AI Workflow Automation, Social Media & Ai Chatbot plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored DOM-Based Cross-Site Scripting via the 'name' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 1.2.8 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. Exploitation requires only that the chatbot module is active with at least one configured bot; the attacker stores the payload via three unauthenticated REST calls, and the JavaScript widget auto-poll then delivers it to any administrator who opens wp-admin/index.php.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which deployments are exposed to unauthenticated exploitation?
Deployments are exposed when the chatbot module is active and at least one bot is configured. The affected versions are all versions up to and including 1.2.8.
Does an attacker need a WordPress account or user interaction to inject the payload?
No WordPress account is required. An unauthenticated attacker can store a payload through three unauthenticated REST calls; the stored script is later delivered when an administrator opens wp-admin/index.php.
Who is likely to trigger the malicious script?
Any administrator who opens the WordPress admin dashboard at wp-admin/index.php may receive and execute the injected script through the JavaScript widget auto-poll.
What can be done if the plugin cannot be patched immediately?
Disable the chatbot module or remove configured bots, since exploitation requires the chatbot module to be active with at least one configured bot.
