CVE-2026-112264: BentoML through 1.4.39 Dockerfile Instruction Injection via docker.env Keys
BentoML through 1.4.39 contains a Dockerfile instruction injection vulnerability that allows attackers to add arbitrary build instructions by embedding newlines in docker.env mapping keys rendered by the legacy base.j2 template. Attackers can supply a crafted bentofile.yaml or imported bento archive so that bentoml containerize executes injected RUN instructions during docker build, accessing build secrets and poisoning images.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is exposed to this issue?
Teams using BentoML through 1.4.39 are exposed when they run `bentoml containerize` on a crafted bentofile.yaml or an imported bento archive from an untrusted source. The injected instructions execute during the Docker build process.
What does an attacker need to exploit it?
An attacker needs to provide input that controls docker.env mapping keys, either in a bentofile.yaml or in an imported bento archive. The exploit uses newline characters in those keys to inject arbitrary Dockerfile instructions.
What is the impact during a successful exploit?
Injected RUN instructions can execute during the Docker build. This can expose build secrets and poison the resulting container image.
