CVE-2026-114630: ELEX WordPress HelpDesk & Customer Ticketing System <= 3.3.8 - Unauthenticated Arbitrary File Deletion via 'ticket_attachment_path' Parameter

Published Nov 6, 2026
·
Updated

The ELEX WordPress HelpDesk & Customer Ticketing System plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion due to insufficient file path validation in the factoryreset function in all versions up to, and including, 3.3.8 This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to delete arbitrary files on the server, which can easily lead to remote code execution when the right file is deleted (such as wp-config.php). This vulnerability is exploitable via a two-step chain: an unauthenticated attacker first stores an arbitrary ticketattachmentpath value by submitting a ticket through the nopriv ehcrmnewticketpost AJAX endpoint (whose nonce is publicly exposed via the [wsdesksupport] shortcode), then triggers the factoryreset routine via a GET request to wp-admin/admin.php?page=wsdeskfactoryreset, which is guarded only by isadmin() — a request-type check — rather than a capability check, causing unlink() to be called on the attacker-supplied path.
