CVE-2026-114652: Update operator injection via single-element list rewriting in the update builder

Published Oct 22, 2026
·
Updated

A data-query-logic neutralization weakness in the update-statement construction component of the MongoDB C# Driver can cause application-supplied values to be interpreted as query/update logic rather than as literal data. An application user who can influence the content of values that the application passes into the affected builder surface, without any special privilege beyond ordinary read-write application access, may cause stored data to be modified or removed in ways the application never intended. The result is unauthorized integrity impact on the affected application data; there is no direct loss of confidentiality or availability of the database service.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

What level of access does an attacker need?

An attacker needs ordinary read-write application access and the ability to influence values that the application passes to the affected update builder surface. No special privilege is required.

2

Can this issue disclose database contents or disrupt database availability?

The reported impact is unauthorized modification or removal of affected application data. It does not directly cause confidentiality loss or database-service availability loss.

3

Which application paths should be prioritized for review?

Prioritize update operations that pass application-supplied values into the MongoDB C# Driver's affected update-statement construction surface. Values intended as literal data may instead be interpreted as query or update logic.
