CVE-2026-114732: Medium severity Roundcube Webmail vulnerability
Roundcube Webmail before 1.6.20 and 1.7.x before 1.7.5 is affected by an improper authentication vulnerability in multi-host installations. When a user logs in with an alias address, rcubeuser::query() matched the address against identity records without qualifying the lookup by IMAP host, so a login could be resolved to a user account belonging to a different IMAP host. Upstream fixed this in the commit “Fix bug where an alias login wasn’t qualified by IMAP host”.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which deployments should be prioritized for review?
Multi-host Roundcube installations are affected if they run a version before 1.6.20, or a 1.7.x version before 1.7.5. The issue is relevant where users can log in using alias email addresses.
What does an attacker need to exploit this issue?
The attack is network-accessible and requires low privileges, with no user interaction required. Exploitation involves an alias login in a multi-host setup and has high attack complexity.
How can administrators scope exposure?
Identify Roundcube instances configured with multiple IMAP hosts, then check whether their deployed version is below 1.6.20 or, for the 1.7 branch, below 1.7.5. Review whether alias addresses are accepted for login, since the vulnerable lookup is triggered by alias-based authentication.
