CVE-2026-115971: Travisun Opptrix preParsing handler webhook Buffer.concat denial of service

Published Oct 24, 2026
·
Updated

A vulnerability was found in Travisun Opptrix 0.4.0. Affected is the function Buffer.concat of the file /api/channels/webhook/ of the component preParsing handler. Performing a manipulation results in denial of service. The attack can be initiated remotely. The exploit has been made public and could be used. The project has been completely taken offline and deprecated. The project maintainer explains: "The mentioned security risk was a design flaw that manifested primarily in local environments during earlier stages of version development. We previously addressed and resolved this specific risk; however, because the project was restricted to a small learning scope and the main versions were intended to run exclusively on localhost, the security fix was only pushed directly to our GitHub repository before it went private." This vulnerability only affects products that are no longer supported by the maintainer.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

Which deployments are realistically exposed to remote exploitation?

The affected webhook endpoint is remotely reachable, but the maintainer states that the main versions were intended to run exclusively on localhost. Deployments that have exposed the application or its webhook endpoint beyond localhost have a more realistic remote denial-of-service exposure.

2

What must an attacker do to trigger the issue?

An unauthenticated remote attacker can manipulate input handled by the preParsing handler in /api/channels/webhook/ to reach Buffer.concat and cause denial of service. No user interaction is required, and public exploit material is available.

3

Is a vendor-supported fix available for affected installations?

No supported remediation path is indicated: the project has been taken offline, deprecated, and affected products are no longer supported. The maintainer says the fix was pushed only to a GitHub repository before it became private.

4

What can be done if the affected software cannot immediately be removed?

Restrict access to the application and specifically the webhook endpoint to localhost or otherwise trusted sources, since the intended main-version deployment was localhost-only. This reduces exposure to remote manipulation while a replacement or removal is planned.
