Updated

YesWiki before 4.7.0 contains a reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to inject JavaScript by supplying query parameters matching missing Bazar field names. Frequently Asked Questions

1

What does an attacker need to exploit this issue?

An attacker only needs to craft a link containing query parameters whose names match missing Bazar field names and persuade a victim to open it. No attacker authentication is required.

2

Who is most at risk from a successful exploit?

Victims who open a crafted link while authenticated to the affected YesWiki instance are at risk. The injected JavaScript can perform same-origin actions in the victim's session.

3

Are default or unauthenticated deployments affected?

The injection can be triggered by an unauthenticated attacker, but exploitation requires a victim to interact with a crafted link. The provided information does not identify any configuration prerequisite beyond the affected Bazar field handling.

4

How can I determine whether an instance is affected?

Instances running YesWiki versions before 4.7.0 are affected according to the advisory. The vulnerable path involves a missing Bazar field name causing BazarField::getValue() to use an unsanitized $_REQUEST value that is rendered through a Twig raw template.
