CVE-2026-118643: n8n before 1.123.85, 2.43.5, and 2.44.1 Credential Exposure via Node Execution Error Data
n8n before 1.123.85, 2.x before 2.43.5, and 2.44.x before 2.44.1 stores credential secrets in execution error data when operations fail in the Git, MongoDB Atlas Vector Store, and Google Cloud Storage nodes. Users who can view a workflow's executions but cannot read the credential can recover Git passwords or tokens, MongoDB database passwords, or Google access tokens from that data.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can recover exposed credentials?
Any user who can view a workflow's execution records can recover secrets from affected error data, even if that user does not have permission to read the underlying credential.
What must happen for credentials to be exposed?
An operation in an affected Git, MongoDB Atlas Vector Store, or Google Cloud Storage node must fail, causing its credential secret to be stored in execution error data.
Which secrets may be exposed?
The exposed data can include Git passwords or tokens, MongoDB database passwords, and Google access tokens.
Which releases contain fixes?
The fixed releases are 1.123.85, 2.43.5, and 2.44.1. Affected versions include releases before 1.123.85, 2.x releases before 2.43.5, and 2.44.x releases before 2.44.1.
