CVE-2026-119218: Greenshift <= 13.2.2 - Unauthenticated Stored DOM-Based Cross-Site Scripting via Comment Author URL via Interaction Layer attach-attribute to Counter data-prefix

Updated

The Greenshift – animation and page builder blocks plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored DOM-Based Cross-Site Scripting via the 'url (commentauthorurl)' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 13.2.2 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. Exploitation requires the affected page to be configured with a GreenShift Interaction Layer attach-attribute action that copies a comment-author anchor's href into a Counter block's data-prefix or data-postfix attribute; given that configuration, the payload executes for every visitor who loads the Counter into the viewport once the comment is published.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

Which sites are exposed to exploitation?

Exposure requires a page configured with a GreenShift Interaction Layer attach-attribute action that copies a comment-author link's href into a Counter block's data-prefix or data-postfix attribute. Sites without that specific page configuration are not described as exploitable by the available information.

2

Does an attacker need an account or elevated privileges?

No. The vulnerability is described as unauthenticated, but the malicious comment must be published before its payload can execute.

3

When does the injected script execute?

After publication, the payload executes for each visitor who loads the affected Counter block into the viewport. The vulnerable input is the comment author's URL, which is copied from the comment-author anchor href under the required Interaction Layer configuration.
