CVE-2026-120060: Integer Underflow

Published Nov 2, 2026
·
Updated

psqlODBC trusts counts and lengths in server data in three places. SQLBulkOperations uses a server-supplied row count in a size subtraction that can underflow. SQLStatistics iterates index keys using a server-supplied key count without bounding it to the fixed storage. Bytea octal decoding reads up to two bytes past the end of a truncated escape sequence. A server not trusted under current SSL settings can crash the client or make it read out of bounds. Versions before psqlODBC 18.00.0006 are affected.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

Which clients are exposed to this issue?

psqlODBC versions before 18.00.0006 are affected. The issue applies when the client communicates with a server that is not trusted under the client’s current SSL settings.

2

What does an attacker need to do to exploit it?

An attacker needs to provide malicious server data to a psqlODBC client, including crafted row counts, index key counts, or truncated bytea escape sequences. Exploitation can cause a client crash or out-of-bounds reads.

3

Is user interaction required?

Yes. The supplied severity vector indicates user interaction is required, although no further details about the required action are provided.
