CVE-2026-120563: SQL Injection

Published Nov 3, 2026
·
Updated

The WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency with WPML plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to SQL Injection in all versions up to, and including, 5.5.7. This is due to insufficient input validation on the currency exchange rate parameter in the savecurrency() AJAX handler, which lacks capability checks and allows subscriber-level users to store malicious SQL payloads that are later concatenated directly into ORDER BY clauses without proper sanitization. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Shop Manager-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries to extract sensitive information from the database.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

Which accounts should be treated as relevant to exploitation?

The affected AJAX handler lacks capability checks and accepts input from subscriber-level users. The described data-extraction scenario identifies authenticated attackers with Shop Manager-level access or higher.

An attacker can store a malicious currency exchange-rate payload that is later concatenated into an ORDER BY clause. This can allow additional SQL queries to be appended and sensitive database information to be extracted.

3

Which installations are known to be affected?

All versions of the plugin up to and including 5.5.7 are affected. The available information does not state whether any particular default configuration or feature setting is required.
