CVE-2026-15990: Formidable Charts <= 2.0.1 - Unauthenticated Arbitrary File Read via 'frm_graph' Parameter

Published Aug 26, 2026
·
Updated

The Formidable Charts plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 2.0.1 via the 'frmgraph' parameter. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to read the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can contain sensitive information. Successful exploitation requires Formidable Forms Lite, Formidable Forms Pro, and Formidable Charts to be active and requires the wp-content/uploads/frm-charts/ directory to exist, normally after an image-format chart is rendered.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

Which installations are exposed to exploitation?

Installations with Formidable Charts version 2.0.1 or earlier are affected only when Formidable Forms Lite or Formidable Forms Pro and Formidable Charts are all active. The wp-content/uploads/frm-charts/ directory must also exist, which normally occurs after an image-format chart has been rendered.

2

Does an attacker need an account or user interaction to exploit this issue?

No. The issue is unauthenticated and requires no user interaction; an attacker can exploit it remotely through the frm_graph parameter if the required plugins and directory are present.

3

What can an attacker obtain through successful exploitation?

An attacker can read arbitrary files on the server through directory traversal. Those files may contain sensitive information.
