CVE-2026-43136: HID: logitech-hidpp: Check maxfield in hidpp_get_report_length()
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
HID: logitech-hidpp: Check maxfield in hidppgetreportlength()
Do not crash when a report has no fields.
Fake USB gadgets can send their own HID report descriptors and can define report structures without valid fields. This can be used to crash the kernel over USB.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is realistically exposed to exploitation?
Linux systems are exposed when an attacker can connect or emulate a malicious USB HID gadget. The affected code is in the Logitech HID++ driver path.
What does an attacker need to trigger the issue?
The attacker needs local access and the ability to present a fake USB gadget with a HID report descriptor containing report structures without valid fields. The supplied severity vector indicates no user interaction is required.
