CVE-2026-43642: Softaculous Virtualizor PHP Object Injection via Billing Module Handler

Published Sep 22, 2026
·
Updated

Softaculous Virtualizor before 3.2.9 (Patch 9) and 3.0.0 contains a PHP object injection vulnerability in the billing module handler that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to supply arbitrary serialized PHP objects for deserialization by setting the act parameter to login with the frombillingmodule parameter present. Attackers can pass malicious serialized data through the billingdata POST field to the unserialize() function without allowedclasses restrictions, enabling exploitation of available POP chains to achieve remote code execution as root.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

What request conditions are required to trigger the vulnerable deserialization path?

An unauthenticated remote attacker must set the act parameter to login, include the from_billing_module parameter, and submit serialized data in the billing_data POST field. The vulnerable handler passes that data to unserialize() without allowed_classes restrictions.

2

What is the practical impact if exploitation succeeds?

Successful exploitation depends on an available PHP POP chain, but can result in remote code execution as root. This can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the affected host.

3

Which releases are identified as affected?

The affected releases are Virtualizor before 3.2.9 Patch 9 and version 3.0.0. The provided data does not identify other affected or fixed versions.
