CVE-2026-46708: EspoCRM: Target list Opt-Out actions allows opting out record without access Target List and access to record
EspoCRM is an open source customer relationship management application. Prior to 9.3.7, a low-privileged user who can access a shared TargetList can invoke opt-out or cancel-opt-out actions for a protected Contact or Lead that the user cannot read or edit. The service validates access to the target list but retrieves the target record without the required record authorization, allowing unauthorized changes to its optedout relationship state. This issue is fixed in version 9.3.7.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is exposed to this issue?
EspoCRM deployments before version 9.3.7 are affected where a low-privileged user can access a shared TargetList and protected Contact or Lead records are associated with that list.
What access does an attacker need?
The attacker needs valid low-privileged access to a shared TargetList. They do not need read or edit permission for the targeted Contact or Lead record.
What can an attacker change?
An attacker can invoke opt-out or cancel-opt-out actions and alter the protected Contact or Lead record's opted_out relationship state. The reported impact is unauthorized modification, not disclosure or availability loss.
How can this be remediated?
Upgrade EspoCRM to version 9.3.7, which fixes the missing record-authorization check.
