Vulnerability in the WebCenter Content: Imaging product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: Core). Supported versions that are affected are 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise WebCenter Content: Imaging. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in takeover of WebCenter Content: Imaging. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 9.8 (Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H).

Remediation

  1. Remove

    Remove Oracle WebCenter Content: Imaging from your environment.

    If the WebCenter Content: Imaging component is not required, uninstall or disable the component to eliminate the vulnerable service from the environment.

  2. Configuration

    If possible, disable or bind the Imaging HTTP interface to internal-only interfaces; otherwise restrict access to specific trusted networks or management VLANs. Remove any public HTTP bindings.

  3. Compensating control

    Restrict network access to the WebCenter Content: Imaging HTTP interface to trusted IPs only (e.g., via firewall rules, ACLs, or placing the service behind a WAF). Block or do not expose the Imaging HTTP endpoints to the public Internet.

  4. Operational

    Investigate for signs of compromise (since successful exploitation can result in takeover), isolate affected systems, rotate any potentially exposed credentials, restore from known-good backups if needed, and monitor logs and network traffic for exploitation attempts. Track Oracle security advisories and apply vendor-provided patches as soon as they are released.
