CVE-2026-46808: High severity Oracle Oracle WebCenter Content vulnerability
Vulnerability in the Oracle WebCenter Content product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: Content Server). The supported version that is affected is 14.1.2.0.0. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows low privileged attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Oracle WebCenter Content. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and while the vulnerability is in Oracle WebCenter Content, attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized creation, deletion or modification access to critical data or all Oracle WebCenter Content accessible data as well as unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all Oracle WebCenter Content accessible data. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 8.7 (Confidentiality and Integrity impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:N).

Remediation
Recommended actions to resolve this vulnerability, in priority order.
- Compensating control
Restrict network access to Oracle WebCenter Content HTTP interfaces: limit inbound HTTP/HTTPS to trusted management IPs or networks via firewall/ACLs; block public Internet access where not required.
- Compensating control
Deploy a Web Application Firewall (WAF) or equivalent HTTP filtering in front of Oracle WebCenter Content to inspect and block malicious HTTP requests and common web exploitation patterns.
- Compensating control
Isolate or segment Oracle WebCenter Content servers on a protected network segment (VLAN) and prevent lateral movement by restricting access between segments.
- Operational
Monitor and review application and access logs for signs of unauthorized creation, deletion, or modification of content; investigate any suspicious activity immediately.
- Operational
If compromise is suspected, take affected systems offline or isolate them, restore from known-good backups, and perform a full incident response including forensic analysis.
- Operational
Rotate relevant credentials and secrets (application/service accounts, administrative accounts) if there is any indication of unauthorized access.
- Operational
Provide targeted user awareness guidance to reduce successful human-interaction vectors (do not open or act on unexpected content or links related to Oracle WebCenter Content).

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is exposed to exploitation?
Oracle WebCenter Content Content Server deployments running the supported affected version 14.1.2.0.0 are exposed if a low-privileged attacker can reach the service over HTTP. Exploitation also requires interaction by a person other than the attacker.
What access does an attacker need?
The attacker needs network access via HTTP and a low-privileged account or privileges. No high-privilege access is required, and the attack complexity is rated low.
What could a successful attack allow?
A successful attack can allow unauthorized access to, creation of, deletion of, or modification of critical data or all data accessible through Oracle WebCenter Content. The impact may extend to additional products because the vulnerability has scope change.
Does exploitation affect availability?
The supplied CVSS vector identifies high confidentiality and integrity impact, but no availability impact. It is rated 8.7 high severity.
