Remediation

Recommended actions to resolve this vulnerability, in priority order.

  1. Compensating control

Restrict network access to the Oracle Enterprise Manager Base Platform HTTP interface (including instances of the Metadata Plugin) to trusted management IP ranges and internal networks only (e.g., via firewall rules, ACLs, VPN). Block direct public/Internet access to affected installations (notably versions 13.5 and 24.1).

  2. Compensating control

Place the Oracle Enterprise Manager HTTP endpoints behind a Web Application Firewall (WAF) or reverse proxy that can inspect and block malicious HTTP requests and enforce tighter HTTP method and URI filtering to reduce exposure to remote exploit attempts.

  3. Operational

Increase monitoring and logging of Oracle Enterprise Manager (HTTP access logs, application logs, IDS/IPS alerts). If suspicious activity or signs of compromise are detected, immediately isolate affected systems, perform incident response and forensics, and contain/remove the attacker before applying vendor fixes when available.
