Frequently Asked Questions

1

Who is realistically exposed to this issue?

Systems running the NVIDIA GPU Display Driver on Windows or Linux are in scope. The attack vector is local, so it is most relevant where an attacker already has access to the affected system.

2

What access does an attacker need to exploit it?

The CVSS vector indicates low attack complexity, no user interaction, and high privileges required. Exploitation is therefore not described as reachable remotely or by an unprivileged user alone.

3

What security impact could successful exploitation have?

Successful exploitation might enable code execution, denial of service, privilege escalation, information disclosure, and data tampering. The CVSS metrics rate confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact as high.
