CVE-2026-48188: SQL Injection via MySQL Quote Method

An improper Input Validation vulnerability in OTRS or ((OTRS)) Community Edition database layer module allows an unauthenticated SQL injection which can lead to an authentication bypass. This issue only affects the system if the MySQL/MariaDB server is configured with the NOBACKSLASHESCAPES SQL mode.

  1. Upgrade

    Upgrade OTRS (OTRS) Community Edition to a version that resolves this vulnerability.

    Fixed in 2026.4.1
  2. Compensating control

    Only if your MySQL/MariaDB server is configured with the SQL mode NO_BACKSLASH_ESCAPES (as stated in the advisory), treat the OTRS database layer as exposed to unauthenticated SQL injection risk until OTRS is updated to 2026.4.1 or later.
