The Aqara Developer Portal (developer.aqara.com) and shared test environments (developer-test.aqara.com, aiot-test.aqara.com) exhibit cross-origin request sharing, which is an instance of "CWE-942: Permissive Cross-domain Policy with Untrusted Domains," and has an estimated CVSS of CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N (8.2 High).

Remediation

Recommended actions to resolve this vulnerability, in priority order.

  1. Configuration

Update the web server/application CORS configuration to return Access-Control-Allow-Origin only for a whitelist of explicitly trusted origins. Do not use a wildcard ('*'). Implement server-side validation of the Origin header and only allow Access-Control-Allow-Credentials when the origin is trusted. Ensure preflight (OPTIONS) handling enforces the same origin restrictions.

Aqara Developer Portal (developer.aqara.com) CORS / Access-Control-Allow-Origin = Whitelist specific trusted origins (do not use '*'); validate Origin header; limit credentialed cross-origin requests
  2. Configuration

For shared test environments, disable permissive CORS or configure a strict whitelist of allowed origins. Ensure Origin validation is enforced for these hosts and that Access-Control-Allow-Origin is not set to '*' for any responses. Where possible, restrict cross-origin requests in test environments to internal/trusted test clients only.

Aqara shared test environments (developer-test.aqara.com, aiot-test.aqara.com) CORS / Access-Control-Allow-Origin = Disable permissive cross-origin sharing; whitelist specific test-client origins if required
  3. Compensating control

Until CORS is corrected, restrict access to the developer and shared test portals (developer.aqara.com, developer-test.aqara.com, aiot-test.aqara.com) via network controls (IP allowlist/VPN), require authentication for management/developer interfaces, and deploy WAF or reverse-proxy rules to block or inspect cross-origin requests from untrusted origins.
