Frequently Asked Questions
Who is realistically exposed to this vulnerability?
Oracle Unified Directory deployments running supported affected versions 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.1.0 are exposed if a low-privileged attacker can reach LDAP over the network. The impact can extend to additional products because the vulnerability has scope change.
What access does an attacker need to exploit it?
An attacker needs network access to the LDAP service and a low-privileged account or equivalent low-level privileges. No user interaction is required, but exploitation is rated difficult due to high attack complexity.
What is the potential impact of successful exploitation?
Successful exploitation can result in takeover of Oracle Unified Directory, with high impacts to confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Attacks may also significantly affect additional products.
