1

Does exploitation require authentication or a local foothold?

No. The implant is reachable through an unauthenticated cleartext UDP channel, and the attacker only needs to be on the network path in order to hijack that channel.

2

Is a special feature configuration required for exposure?

The listed firmware versions are stated to ship with the yunmgrd implant. No additional configuration prerequisite, disablement option, or mitigation is provided in the available data.
