On GPU systems with the security vulnerability fix for CVE-2026-49746 applied, the mapping range of graphics buffers is limited which causes errors when the mapping outside of that range.

Integer truncation caused when mapping GPU buffer pages in the buffer’s range 0GB - 4GB, produces error and limits the functionality of the kernel mode driver.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

Which systems are affected?

GPU systems that have the fix for CVE-2026-49746 applied are affected when graphics buffers require mapping beyond the limited range.

2

What workload is likely to trigger the issue?

Graphics workloads that map GPU buffer pages in the buffer range from 0 GB to 4 GB can encounter integer truncation errors. Attempts to map outside the supported range can also fail, limiting kernel-mode driver functionality.

3

How can I tell whether the issue is affecting a system?

Affected systems produce errors during GPU buffer-page mapping and may show reduced kernel-mode driver functionality when graphics buffers exceed the supported mapping range.
