CVE-2026-76419: XSS

Published Nov 4, 2026

A vulnerability in the web-based management interface of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Unified CM) and Cisco Unified Communications Manager Session Management Edition (Unified CM SME) could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack against a user of the interface. This vulnerability exists because the web-based management interface does not properly validate user-supplied input. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by persuading a user of the interface to click a crafted link. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary script code in the context of the affected interface or access sensitive, browser-based information.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

Who is exposed to this issue?

Users of the web-based management interface for Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Unified CM Session Management Edition are exposed if they can be persuaded to open an attacker-crafted link. The attacker does not need to authenticate, but exploitation requires interaction from an interface user.

2

What could an attacker gain through successful exploitation?

An attacker could run arbitrary script in the context of the affected management interface. This may expose sensitive information available through the user's browser session and could affect confidentiality and integrity.

3

What is known about temporary mitigations if patching is not immediately possible?

The provided information does not identify a workaround or configuration mitigation. Reducing the likelihood that management-interface users open untrusted links may limit the social-engineering step required for exploitation.
