CVE-2026-77114: Document Gallery <= 5.1.1 - Unauthenticated Stored Cross-Site Scripting
The Document Gallery plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via 'dgthumberwebhook' Action Request Body in all versions up to, and including, 5.1.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. Exploitation requires that logging be enabled in the plugin's Advanced settings, which is only the default state when WPDEBUG is true; otherwise an administrator must manually enable it.

Frequently Asked Questions
When is the vulnerable logging functionality enabled by default?
Logging is enabled by default only when WP_DEBUG is true. If WP_DEBUG is not true, an administrator must have manually enabled logging in the plugin's Advanced settings for exploitation to be possible.
What access does an attacker need to exploit this issue?
An attacker does not need authentication or user interaction to submit the malicious Action Request Body to dg_thumber_webhook. The injected script executes later when a user accesses a page containing the stored payload, provided plugin logging is enabled.
