Frequently Asked Questions

1

Who is realistically exposed to this vulnerability?

Oracle WebCenter Portal deployments running supported affected versions 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.0.0 are exposed if an attacker with low-privileged credentials can reach the product over HTTP. The attack can be performed remotely and does not require user interaction.

2

What level of access does an attacker need before exploitation?

An attacker needs network access via HTTP and low privileges in Oracle WebCenter Portal. No user interaction is required, and the attack complexity is rated low.

3

What could a successful attacker do?

A successful attack can provide unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all data accessible through Oracle WebCenter Portal. It can also allow unauthorized updates, inserts, or deletions of some accessible data, and may significantly affect additional products because the vulnerability has scope change.

4

How can I determine whether my environment is affected?

Confirm whether Oracle WebCenter Portal is deployed and identify its version. The affected supported versions listed are 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0; the available information does not provide additional indicators of compromise or configuration prerequisites.
