CVE-2026-87688: Command Injection

Published Oct 8, 2026
·
Updated

An input validation vulnerability exists in the security certificate management component of the Brocade Fabric OS administrative management API. When processing certificate management operations, user-supplied certificate identifiers are handled without adequate sanitization prior to execution in external system routines. An authenticated attacker with privileges to perform certificate deletion requests can leverage this flaw to execute arbitrary system commands with the privileges of the underlying management daemon. This vulnerability affects Fabric OS versions before 9.2.2d and 10.0.0 through 10.0.0a1.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

Which deployments are affected?

Brocade Fabric OS versions before 9.2.2d are affected, as are versions 10.0.0 through 10.0.0a1. The issue is in the administrative management API's certificate management component.

2

What level of access does an attacker need?

An attacker must already be authenticated and have privileges to submit certificate deletion requests. No user interaction is required.

3

What can exploitation allow?

Successful exploitation can allow arbitrary system command execution with the privileges of the underlying management daemon. The vulnerability is triggered through insufficient sanitization of user-supplied certificate identifiers during certificate management operations.
