CVE-2026-92820: Ninja Forms - File Uploads <= 3.3.34 - Unauthenticated Arbitrary File Upload

Published Oct 2, 2026
·
Updated

The Ninja Forms - File Uploads plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file operations in all versions up to, and including, 3.3.34 via the external (Amazon S3) upload flow. The plugin trusts an attacker-supplied file path from the form submission and stores it as the upload's filepath, which is then used without validation to attach a file to the form's notification email (arbitrary file read), to write fetched content (arbitrary file write, leading to remote code execution when the external store is configured), and in a scheduled deletion (arbitrary file deletion). This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to read, write, or delete arbitrary files on the server. Exploitation requires the site to use the plugin's External File Upload (Amazon S3) action; the read variant additionally requires a form Email action configured to attach the uploaded file.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

Which deployments are exposed to the most serious impact?

Exposure requires use of the plugin's External File Upload (Amazon S3) action. In that configuration, unauthenticated attackers may be able to write or delete arbitrary server files; arbitrary file write can lead to remote code execution.

2

What additional configuration is needed for arbitrary file reading?

The read variant additionally requires a form Email action configured to attach the uploaded file. Without that email attachment configuration, the described arbitrary file read path is not available.

3

Does an attacker need an account or user interaction to exploit this?

No. The issue is described as exploitable by unauthenticated attackers, with no user interaction required, provided the relevant external upload configuration is enabled.

4

What can be done if updating is not immediately possible?

Disable or remove the External File Upload (Amazon S3) action from affected forms to remove the required exploitation condition. Also remove Email actions that attach uploaded files to prevent the additional file-read path.
