A weakness has been identified in Totolink CA750-PoE 6.2c.510. This issue affects the function NTPSyncWithHost of the file /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi of the component Setting Handler. Executing a manipulation of the argument hosttime can lead to os command injection. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploit has been made available to the public and could be used for attacks.

  1. Configuration

    Disable the NTPSyncWithHost function or configure the device to not accept/process the host_time argument. If the device UI does not expose this setting, remove or block the handler until a vendor fix is applied.

  2. Compensating control

    Restrict access to the device management interface to trusted IPs only (block WAN/untrusted networks). Apply firewall/ACL rules to prevent external access to /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi.

    Deploy HTTP filtering or a WAF to block requests targeting /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi and/or requests containing the host_time parameter (drop or sanitize such requests at the network edge).

  4. Operational

    Monitor device logs for requests to /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi and indicators of OS command execution. Isolate any devices showing signs of compromise and perform recovery (power-cycle, factory reset) and investigation.
