CVE-2026-96666: Schema App Structured Data <= 2.3.2 - Unauthenticated Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Comment Content via 'Remove Microdata' Output Filter
The Schema App Structured Data plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Comment Content via 'Remove Microdata' Output Filter in all versions up to, and including, 2.3.2 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. Exploitation requires that an administrator has enabled the plugin's 'Remove Microdata' option and approves the malicious comment.

What does an attacker need to exploit this issue?
An attacker does not need authentication or user interaction to submit the malicious content. However, the malicious comment must be approved by an administrator before its injected script executes when users visit the affected page.
What can be done while patching is unavailable?
Disable the plugin's “Remove Microdata” option and avoid approving untrusted comments. Review approved comments for malicious script content, particularly where this option was enabled.
