CVE-2026-98208: mmc: sdio_uart: fix xmit_fifo leak when the port table is full
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mmc: sdiouart: fix xmitfifo leak when the port table is full
sdiouartaddport() allocates the transmit fifo before claiming a slot in sdiouarttable[]. When all UARTNR slots are taken, it returns -EBUSY with the fifo still allocated, but the probe error path only kfree()s the port, leaking the transmit fifo.
Free the fifo in the failure path of sdiouartaddport() itself so the function retains nothing on error.

Frequently Asked Questions
When can this leak occur?
It occurs when sdio_uart_add_port() allocates a transmit FIFO but cannot claim a slot because all UART_NR entries in the sdio_uart_table[] port table are already in use.
What is the practical impact of the issue?
A failed attempt to add an SDIO UART port can leave its allocated transmit FIFO in memory. The affected error path returns -EBUSY and frees the port structure, but previously did not free the FIFO.
How is the issue fixed?
The fix frees the transmit FIFO in sdio_uart_add_port() when adding the port fails, ensuring that the function does not retain the FIFO allocation on error.
