Frequently Asked Questions

1

When can this issue be triggered?

It requires failure of the workqueue allocation during bnxt_re DCB setup, followed by execution of the asynchronous DCB handler. The handler can then call queue_work() with a NULL workqueue pointer.

2

Which systems are exposed?

Systems using the Linux kernel RDMA bnxt_re driver and exercising its DCB setup and asynchronous DCB handling are relevant. The provided data does not identify affected kernel versions or whether this path is enabled by default.

3

How can administrators tell whether they may be affected?

Review whether the bnxt_re RDMA driver is in use and whether DCB is configured or used with it. The supplied information does not provide a specific log signature, crash signature, or detection command.
