Frequently Asked Questions
Who can exploit this issue?
An attacker must be authenticated as a Ghost Administrator. The issue affects Ghost installations from v1.20.0 through versions before v6.64.0.
What information could be exposed?
An Administrator could cause Ghost to read JSON files outside the active theme directory. This could expose server configuration secrets if they are stored in readable JSON files.
What should self-hosted administrators do?
Update Ghost to v6.64.0 or later. Docker-based installations should update the official Ghost image, while Ghost-CLI installations should use the documented Ghost update process.
